So today as I sat in my favorite coffee shop, tip tapping away at my keyboard putting thought to word on my novel, I would glance around every so often just to experience the human behaviors going on around me. I like sitting up in the loft area; it’s my favorite spot. I can observe people walking by on the street as well as the people that walk in the door. Somehow it soothes me and I come up with so many great ideas for my novel!
I often wonder how many of the great authors and poets of old would sit in little coffee shops or taverns even, putting their great works down on paper. Or how many of them thought their works wouldn’t be as big as they are today. It’s a fun thought to entertain! Then again it may just be my writer’s brain or my imaginative thoughts that bring me to those daydreams.
One day I hope to find my writings on a shelf in some bookstore, or walk into some little out of the way corner coffee shop to see my familiar cover in the hands of some deeply focused male or female. One day!
In the words of J. K. Rowling “…the idea of just wandering off to a cafe with a notebook and writing and seeing where that takes me for awhile is just bliss.”
